Note: This is the 2009 PRACTICE TEST page�it is virtually identical to the live 2009 test, except that it is fully functional and available now. The 2010 test pages will be organized differently. See the US Sudoku Team qualifying test.

Friday

1. Download both PDF Files and SAVE TO DISK:

The test was created by Acrobat 8.1 and should be compatible with Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4) or greater. Download the latest Acrobat Reader here.

2. Read Preview Instructions Run Acrobat and decrypt the Preview Instructions file using the password shown above. You should print and read the Preview Instructions well in advance of the actual test. Both the Practice and live Preview Instructions may include special last-minute instructions that will not appear elsewhere.

Also make sure that you are familiar with the Rules as well as the Hints and Tips pages, and try the Practice Test.

Saturday

3. Double Check Make sure you've completed steps 1 and 2 on Friday, and saved files to disk.

4. Start Timer If your browser supports Javascript, then open a timer window, which should automatically count down to the start of the test, then to the end of the test.

5. Start Test On Saturday, June 20 at 1pm EDT/10am PDT (GMT-4), get the password for the test. For the Practice Test, you can do this any time.

Note: please ensure in advance that your browser can refresh the password page properly. (We understand that many AOL browsers, and perhaps others, do not work instantaneously, if at all.) Otherwise, you may not notice when the password page is updated.

Using Acrobat, decrypt and print the championship test file. (Note: the graphics are optimized for printing, and may not appear correctly on your monitor.)

6. Submit Answers Use the Answer Page to submit answers any time before the 2 1/2 hour deadline; don't wait until the last minute.

7. Check Your Answers After the test, check your answers against the official solution sheet, available via the Summary Page.
